In 1887 Gustave Sennelier, a devoted chemist and colorist, established himself as a purveyor of fine-Artists' paints in Paris. Surrounded by artists, he developed the first range of Artist oil colours which have been used for paintings nowadays exhibited in the world's greatest museums. In time Sennelier products' range has expanded with soft and oil pastels, watercolour, acrylic, tempera, gouache, etc.
