Set of artist´s oil pastels made by Koh-i-noor company packed in a cardboard box.
The basic manufacturing mixture for oil pastels Gioconda consist of mixture of oil, waxes and kaolin. These components together with other additives give the oil pastel its interchangeable quality and ability to use technique of wiping off the surface. The coloured core is achieved by using high quality dispersed pigments. The interconnection of all these components creates a unique softness and smoothness for wiping. Thanks to spreading extensive layers plus transition of shades you are allowed to mix the colours and create new tones as with the oil or temper colours. To emphasize this effect use brush and turpentine oil. There is a possibility to use the technique of raking if you put on a big layer.
